Planning a Future for Dromahair
Like towns and villages across Ireland and the world, Dromahair is getting ready to emerge from the restrictions of Covid-19. Unlike its counterparts, Dromahair is also undertaking strategic planning for its short, medium and long term future as part of a new study and consultation process being led by Leitrim County Council in partnership with Dromahair Development Association/Tidy Towns and supported by the Dept of Rural and Community Development under the Town & Village grant fund 2019.
The aim of the project is to develop a plan for Dromahair that reflects the priorities for everyone. The process will examine what’s next for Dromahair in terms of village enhancement, community amenities and developing the local economy. Opinion, comment and input is sought from the widest range of community and business stakeholders in Dromahair and around.
Research will be carried out by Venture International Ltd. Consultants who have teamed with Sheridan Woods, Architects and Urban Planners to develop the Framework. Introductions and information gathering has already started. You can expect to hear from the team soon as the project will stretch over the summer with a final plan being ready in Autumn of 2020.
Dromahair is already an attractive place to live and work. The timing of the Development Framework for Dromahair could not be better as it looks at how to revitalise the village and develop a shared vision for the future.
